COVID-19

COVID-19 Response

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Smiles of Skaneateles has been doing everything we can to ensure our patient’s health and dental needs are met. Both Dr. Smith and Dr. Wanamaker have been safely treating patients throughout the pandemic in addition to adding new services like digital teledentistry visits.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your past visits to our office. Our strict infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe in addition to some systems we have added that exceed the CDC and ADA recommendations.

  • Please wear a mask when entering the building
  • We have hand sanitizer throughout the office
  • We have installed medical grade air purification and UV disinfection systems in each room that eliminate viruses structurally similar to the Corona Virus
  • You may also notice our dental team wearing additional protective equipment like face shields and gowns
  • Once in the treatment room you will be offered a mouthwash that has been shown to reduce bacteria and viruses
  • Appointments times may be adjusted to allow for additional social distancing as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time
  • If you have signs or symptoms of COVID or been exposed recently please call to reschedule your appointment

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
